Welcome to Wasilla, home of Sarah Palin and also of Mike Sharrow. It is a lovely town and a good place to have a picnic lunch.
Typical road in this section around Anchorage. Note that the trees are still green. Also look really close just to the left of the taller tree. That is Mt. McKinnley.
This is very close to the vehicle that we drove in 1971 when we first drove the Alaskan Highway. I should say that Dad drove, I was 15 at the time. Many many changes, and that is good.
