Dawson City pt 1
Here we are in 1898 more or less in Dawson City, Yukon. The gold rush is on and Diamond Tooth Gerties is all the rage. Yes Janet, it is a casino. No I didn't play. Maybe next time.
Gertie gave quite a show. I think that the 10:30 and 12:00 shows might have been baudier as the night wore on.
There were even can-can girls. Offenbach lives! They also tap danced on chairs now that was impressive. Actually it was stairs, my fingers lie. Most of the audience was retirement age and older. One of the hotels in town had 176 rooms. They were closing the next week for the season. It get quite lonely in Dawson City in the winter. I bet the miners felt thiosi way too.
